Most fire pit accessories are decorative. A handful of them change how the pit actually performs and how long it lasts. This is the second group.

Match the accessory to the pit's engineered airflow, not just its diameter. A grate that blocks the vents on a double wall pit can interfere with secondary combustion.

On decks specifically
